What’s in my toiletry bag from Amazon and Dollar Tree?

The best affordable travel products from Amazon and Dollar Tree.

This summer we haven’t been doing much traveling due to Covid, but we have been going out east to the Hamptons/Montauk and Newport. Sometimes its just good to get away for the weekend and escape the chaos. I like to pack the least amount of items as possible on our trips but still feel like I have everything I need. Trust me, you can lose yourself at Harmon’s or CVS in the travel aisles, I know I do. Here are my favorite toiletry items to travel with.

First, I ordered the re-usable travel bottles from Amazon. This is a huge money savor down the road because those travel shampoos, soaps and conditioners add up. This way you can squeeze your favorites into these re-usable bottles and never have to worry about not having your favorite hair products or body products with you on your trip. I also squeezed my Moroccan smoothing lotion into the bottle that says “hair gel”. I have the frizziest hair and can’t risk not having my hair products with me on a trip.

I always bring dry shampoo pretty much everywhere I go. I try not to wash my hair that often, because its so frizzy. The Moroccan oil dry shampoo is definitely one of my favorites. It doesn’t leave your hair with that baby powder rough feeling. Its very silky, smooth and smells amazing.

For hairspray, I purchased the TRESemme travel bottle at CVS, because I was in a rush. It works pretty well, but I will include some of my favorites from Amazon that I love even more.

I honestly, love everything from this brand Moroccan oil. I can’t say enough good things. If you have fine frizzy hair this brand works wonders. I will do a blog post on all of the hair products that work for frizzy hair down the road, but buying anything from this brand you are pretty much set.

Amika is also a great brand that is decently priced. What my favorite thing to do for expensive hair brands, is buying the travel sizes to test them out first.

This is not a travel size, but they do have the travel size at Ulta and CVS. I have this at home in the big sizes. It is extremely inexpensive and literally smells like coconut and sunscreen. This is a little on the thicker side, so I like to spray it in my hair at the root and take a blow dryer to my hair afterwards.

Everything always $1 – Shop Now

For toothbrushes, toothpastes, deodorant, mouthwash just go to The Dollar Tree. Do not spend money on these items, you are just going to throw away the toothbrushes and you can throw everything else away if you want. They have the name brands there, they are just smaller sizes.

For face lotion, I don’t bring my fancy lotions when I travel. I bring these Olay sensitive skin lotions with 15 SPF. I have been using this for years, and now on Amazon you can buy two at a time. It’s literally just as good as my expensive lotions, doesn’t break me out, I can wear it in the sun and feel like I am protected and you don’t get the ghost face or weird shine patches when the camera flashes.

Lastly, I always keep fashion tape in my bag. You just never know when you or a friend might have a Tara Reid moment (sorry Tara).
